Aiko is the main character of the series. She’s pretty, she’s intelligent, she’s sporty, she’s real friendly… and she dies in the second episode of the series. But, she lives again as Blue Star Wind Angel.
As a Star, her weapons of choice are her bare hands, but when the situation calls for her Element, she uses wind daggers and the wind wave. Throughout the series, we watch Aiko as she transforms from a pretty normal high school freshman to a Star to the one just might save everyone from being Collected. Aiko is a girl of confidence, but she admits that she is one only because of the people around her. With her family and friends pulling her out of rare moments of discouragement, Aiko can definitely be a force to be reckoned with.
Toriyama Kamui

Kamui is Kobayakawa High’s striker inside the classroom and out. He is academically competetive, and is the captain of the soccer team despite his being a freshman. Add the face that continually gathers fangirls for him, and you get a girl magnet, no matter how unwilling he is to be one.
Aside from apparently being a genius and having a natural skill for soccer, he is also born with impressive potential to be an Elemental. He holds the record for being the Star who mastered his Element the fastest. As Blue Star Ground Master, he can produce sharp leaves and thick, constricting vines with a flick of his wrist. Although his weapon of choice is a bamboo sword, he can crack the earth with one quick punch.
After Blue Star business, Kamui always finds time to joke around with his sister Sara and his best friend Aiko. Kamui has a expressive face, so it’s not hard for the two girls to read him and occassionally tease him. Kamui hates when he’s being lied to, mostly because he always tries to be as honest as he can. As Aiko once said, he’s “Toriyama Kamui. Talented, loyal, dependable, and your all-around WYSWIG guy.”
Hino Kaji

As the leader of the Stars next to Ran, Kaji is the strategist of the group. He is fast, agile, has strong instincts and quick thinking. When it comes to his Element and physical strength, Kaji is the strongest among the Stars (except for Ran, of course).
Kaji is a man who knows how to separate business and pleasure. During his free time, Kaji lets loose and haves “fun”. Hailed as the King of Counterattacks, his sarcastic mouth works overtime, and he most willingly gives -ahem- healthy criticism just when the Stars need it. But when it’s business, it’s business. He tends to take responsibility for everything, he takes defending seriously, and he tries his best to look out for the other Stars.
He’s hot-tempered, stubborn and impulsive. He’s loyal, clever and quick to help. He can be the lamest person alive. He is Blue Star Fire Soul, Hino Kaji.
Mizuno Yuki

As Blue Star Ice Maiden, Yuki’s weapon of choice is her ice sword. She can also use water, control the tempreature and storm clouds, but she generally prefers ice. That’s why it’s no wonder that she’s a very good ice skater.
The most noticable thing about Yuki is that she is a quiet observer. She sees what’s happening around her, tries to make sense of it, and does what she can to help out. Yuki is usually one who sees the small details that no one else sees, and, she always thinks before acting.
She likes to tease Kaji. She likes to tease ONLY Kaji. Maybe this is because she (aside from Ran) knows the most about him, and he knows the most about her. Although she is nowhere near stoic, Yuki is usually calm and collected. She isn’t withdrawn from the world, but there is still a side of her that only Kaji has seen. Whether or not someone else can penetrate the shell she has built around herself, we have yet to find out.
Kazetenshi Hikaru

Hikaru is Aiko’s older brother; a sophomore at Kobayakawa High. Although he seems to take everything lightly, Hikaru is very serious when it comes to his sister. Having promised his mother that he was going to take care of Aiko, Hikaru can be overprotective of her. Sometimes he sees her as the girl who always gets herself into scrapes, who always needed her older brother beside her. Hikaru is quick to help Aiko in any way that he can, even in the smallest things like lightening the mood when she’s thinking a bit too deeply for his liking.
As Blue Star Guardian, Hikaru can control the Light. Being a kendoist, he has fast reflexes, and he still uses his bokken when he fights with minors and Roses. Because his Element isn’t offensive, Hikaru is rarely taken seriously. But he comes real handy when the Stars are outnumbered. With his stealth and skill, Hikaru can take his enemies down in a minute. And they won’t even know what hit them.
Toriyama Sara

Being younger than everybody else in her circle of friends, Sara seems to be everyone’s little sister. The little sister who also knows how to be an older sister. Sara is a girl who can be irrestitably cute and at the same time be wise and sensible. Although she acts her age, Sara is very mature. She’s most usually the first one who attmepts to knock some sense into her older brother. And she most usually succeeds. Kamui calls her “Smiley” at times because of her ever-present smile, even in times of trouble.
Sara is Blue Star’s resident Healer, and there are times when she can read minds, as well. This ability is natural to her, but she has yet to master it. Because her abilities aren’t for fighting, Sara rarely defends alone. But when that is the case, she uses her gymnastics abilities to dodge punches and shuriken. Kamui had also taught her self-defense, so she isn’t exactly a helpless little girl.
As the Stars’ doctor, encourager and cheerleader, Sara is a girl they can’t do without.

Ran is the emotional, comedic, and dramatic Master of Blue Star. He never seems to age physically… And he didn’t seem to have aged mentally, either (hehe). His character has many facets: from serious and authoritative to unbelievably hilarious. He is slow to anger and easy to get along with. Ran knows more than he’s letting on, and he believes that there is a proper time to reveal what he knows. The only thing to do is trust him.
